 Group: Member Posts: Joined: Wed May 28 2008 Status: Offline | It is certainly true that Robbie Fowler was in Grimsby and at Millfields as someone I know saw him there on sunday and he is not one for wind ups, I still found it hard to believe but when playing in the pool league on wednesday night the topic came up and a guy on the other team said exactly the same that he knows somebody who saw the man there at millfields, I also heard he was training with Danny North and other people saying he and Newell are friends and there is certainly the obvious Liverpool link there, reckon there has to be quite a good friendship between the gaffer and Fowler for him to come here but for anybody who has heard the rumors they are certainly true. |

Group: Member Posts: Joined: Wed May 28 2008 Status: Offline | There you have it another source in M, Gy on Buscher page confirming he was there, and also the old rumor of Ross's ?imminent? arrival, well two or three months ago from the same source I know who has talked to people in the club I wrote on these boards that Ross will be in place by the beginning of next season, even I am a little sceptical but I have had so much info over the years of which about 90% has come true although these two are pretty off the wall, this is the stuff dreams are made of and for one of them to come true would be pretty awesome, If I had a choice out of Fowler and Ross, I would go Ross as the full team would be in good hands and strengthened beyond recognition , also Anti mariner would stop whinging, all I know is Fowler was there but as for him becoming a mighty mariner that is still unclear and I would guess it would involve a coaching role if there is any chance of him joining, nobody I told took this seriously and somebody I told said maybe he was there for a meal Lol, I know it is good there but why come to Gy for a meal, maybe it was just a catch up with Newell but people have been talking about the possibility of a coaching role and lets face it Watkiss is out on his ear at the end of the season, they just dont want to pay his contract up but it runs out at end of season I believe, maybe Fowler is considering being Newell's No 2 and why not, Ince started in this league, Adams started in this league and I think they get a lot more respect for doing so, Groves started off the same as Adams pretty badly in this league but look at him now, gotta be classed as No3 at Pompey, I never thought of Fowler as the manager type but I could say the same for Adams and Ince sure they were leaders as players but I never thought they would turn into managers, I would love this to come off to see what the Fred's KFC's and other idyeets have to say about towns fortunes seen as they have disappeared since the win, real town fans?, I think not!, I personally think he was here to put an offer in on the whole of guildford st to add to his portfolio Lol, although I hope not, Does anybody have and more info, general comments or doubts about the Fowler and Ross rumours?  |

 Group: Member Posts: Joined: Mon Nov 3 2008 Status: Offline | who says never trust a scouser lol...... i trust MN its about time u anti mariners out there av a good look in the mirror and realise he has pedigree(champions league), experience(championship +was touted for various premiership jobs in the past ),and most of all contacts (robbie "kop legend" fowler)..... i know fenty deserves some "but not all" flak but give credit were credits due for bringing in one of the best managers outside the championship..... so if he does end up selling up to ross cheers mate for leaving us in the best hands you could even though u could of done things differently in the past .......and lets look to the future especially u anti mariners the club the manager and players need you if we are going to move forward "TOGETHER" ............ grimsby till i die !!!!!! |

All the lads on the docks this morning are talking about fowler as player coach; apparently its on Compass FM at 10am this morning. And i take my hat off to the lads who said Ross is putting money in - i didn't beleive it but the rumour is Ross is bankrolling fowlers move here. Happy days are here again!! The media interest this will generate, the new club shop in Freshney place will thrive. All mariners together at last! Let the scramble for match tickets tonight begin! PS Can we have our new stadium now?! |
