WAYNE BLOY

Bantamweight Wayne was born in Grimsby on November 30, 1982, and is managed by former Midland Area light-heavyweight champion Stuart Fleet.
He fought as an amateur but it became increasingly difficult to find suitable opponents.
Wayne made his professional debut on June 2004 at the Winter Gardens, Cleethorpes, and went on an unbeaten run until October 2006 when he was outpointed by Jamie McDonnell.
He later faced the same opponent for the English Championship in Doncaster in February 2007 but was stopped in the third round.
Before traditional boxing, Wayne was a top kick-boxer and took the WUMA European title in December 2003.
He is a former member of the Grimsby Kickboxing Club’s Strike Team under coach Dale Lowe, himself a former boxing pro.
